Back in 2003, CMD Architectural Services (as we were back then) was a small start-up that was created purely by chance (due to redundancy). We started out small, but have steadily grown over the last fifteen years to be one of Surrey’s leading architectural design agencies; designing beautiful extensions, fantastic loft conversions and stunning kitchens – we’ve helped hundreds of clients over the years transform their design ideas into a buildable reality.
The company was changed to CMD Design Ltd in 2008 when expansion & growth required our change to a limited company status – since then we’ve never looked back & we’ve been a guiding hand for our clients for over fifteen years now.
We’ve been proud members of one of Surrey’s premier recommended business groups now for over thirteen years and receive virtually all of our business from personal recommendations and word of mouth. The high levels of accountability required for membership speak volumes for the quality of the services that we provide: we’ve never had an architectural survey come back wrong, we’ve never had a kitchen client withhold a kitchen fitting retainer and we’ve never had to make a claim on our insurance… so you can rest assured that your home is in safe hands.
Previous work roles prior to the formation of the company include various CAD drafting roles in:
Office Refurbishment (creating space plan / furniture / partitioning / services / schematic layouts)
Construction (creating services layouts & construction details for large commercial projects)
Flooring (creating floor-layouts & customised floors for both residential & commercial use)
About the director…
Chris Denny has lived in Surrey virtually all his life. He graduated from Birmingham School of Architecture with an Honours Degree in Architecture in 1997 and also studied a City & Guilds in Computer Aided Design a the same time. He’s a family man and is married with a young daughter and a pair of cats called Gary & Nigel (don’t ask!).
When not working, his big passion is American Football – he played defensive back & linebacker for sixteen years and has been coaching the sport for a similar length of time. He recently was inducted into Brighton University’s team Hall Of Fame after stepping down as the most successful head coach in the club’s history – winning two divisional titles in three seasons with the club.
He’s a longstanding member of Reigate Baptist Church, has chaired three hugely successful terms as president of a local recommendable business group, loves stand-up comedy & takes great delight in dressing up as Santa each Christmas for his daughter’s nursery… he’s just a big kid at heart!
